On the occasion of the upcoming end-of-school year ceremony, the teacher of the 3rd grade of the 70th Primary School of Athens , who was actively involved all activities of MIO-ECSDE, had the idea to hold a fun tinkering “competition” for parents and students together.
For this reason, and after she implemented an easy Tinkering activity on her own (tinker your name) with her students, MIO-ECSDE, was invited to to lead two more activities (Balancing Sculpture and Moving Sign) to boost the students’ confidence in running their own tinkering competition during the ceremony.
MIO-ECSDE visited the school on 3 June to try out the “Balancing Sculpture” activity with the students, and the results were amazing (See some of their works below).
Although we only had time to demonstrate the “Moving Sign” activity, the students completed it as homework and brought their signs the next day.
While preparing for the ceremony the students had also tinkered the “Save the planet bag” to give as a suverir to parents.
Unfortunately, the end-ceremony planned for 13 June was canceled due to a heatwave, leaving us all disappointed : ((
